Huntingdon Town Council held their annual pancake Day Flipathon on the Market Square. With over 100 spectators, the first race was the traditional Chain Gang cup where mayors from the local area compete for the glory of a medal. This year’s participants were the Mayor of Huntingdon, Cllr Steve McAdam; the Mayor of Godmanchester, Cllr Dick Taplin; the Mayor of St Ives, Cllr Daniel Rowe; the Mayor of Ramsey, Cllr Steve Corney; and the mayor of Raunds, Cllr Richard Levell.
Community groups and teams represented were the Stukeley Meadows Primary School, Nottingham Building Society, British Heart Foundation, Huntingdon Volunteer Centre, Guide Dogs UK, Medica Detection Dogs, Huntingdon Community Centre, and Leonard Cheshire.
This was such a fun day for all, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor presented those coming first and second with a medal as a keepsake for the day, all schoolchildren taking part also received an Easter Egg.
Thanks go to all the staff at the Town Hall, Grounds team, mayors (and mayoresses), and all that came together to make the day so enjoyable.
