An emotional service of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims was held at Great St Mary’s, the University Church of Cambridge this evening.
Hosted by the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire, Mrs Caroline Bewes DL, and members of the Road Victims Trust (RVT). Guests of honour included Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Mrs Julie Spence, the Lord Bishop of Ely, the Right Reverend Stephen Conway, and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Mr Darryl Preston.
But the guest we were all inspired by was Mrs Katie Holmes, as a RVT Ambassador. Katie spoke of her experience when she was informed of her husband being killed in a road traffic collision and of the person convicted of his death by dangerous driving.
Once again, thank you to Caroline and Nicholas for raising awareness of the impact dangerous driving has on the families of those killed or injured as a result of the actions of others.
