Thanksgiving Service and Pie Social at RAF Alconbury

A service of Thanksgiving was held at RAF Alconbury
What a great evening spent at RAF Alconbury as guests of Colonel Brian Filler, Commander 501st Combat Support Wing for their annual Thanksgiving Service and Pie Social.
An amazing selection of pies
Civic guests include the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire, Mrs Caroline Bewes and Nicholas Bewes, civic leaders, mayors, and representatives from the community.
The Mayor of Huntingdon samples the pies
The Mayoress also enjoyed the pies
Col Filler could not attend due to a prior engagement, so Col Richard Martin hosted us during the evening’s activities. We began the evening with a Thanksgiving Service in the Base Chapel followed by the Pie Social in the Stukeley Club.
Hilary enjoyed it so much, she was given some to bring home!
I would like to thank our hosts, the team at the base, the cadets for showing us all how to get from one location to another and for serving up the pies, and of course, all those that allowed us to join in with tonight’s Thanksgiving Service.
