Town Council Meetings, Thursday 23rd January 2020

Three council meetings took place at the Town Hall tonight. Starting with the Media sub-committee looking at the March issue of the Huntingdon Magazine. This issue will have coverage of the opening of the new community centre at Coneygear Park, the Annual Town Meeting, Councillor’s attendance at meetings throughout the year, and Mayor-making.

The Leisure and Community Services committee met to discuss some parking issues in response to a question from a member of the public, parking is not one of the town council’s areas that we are responsible for, but we can look towards issues that should be taken into consideration at the Planning Applications Panel when reviewing new applications. During this meeting, members were given reports on the Medway Centre and Coneygear Centre, the Head Groundsman’s report and an update on guidance for this year’s entry in the Huntingdon in Bloom entry to Anglia in Bloom. Finally, the committee looked at the future management o some HDC play areas and recommendations for local pathway improvements.

The final meeting was the Planning Committee, this meeting approved the recommendations of the Planning Applications Panel and a short debate followed with an agenda item regarding recommended names of streets in new developments if requested.
